Abstract

This study investigates the variation of starch content in mediumand fine-fiber cotton (Gossypium spp.) varieties and its relationship with varietal characteristics. The level of starch accumulation in leaves and vegetative organs of different cotton varieties was determined under laboratory conditions, and its association with physiological status was analyzed. The results showed that medium-fiber varieties tend to accumulate higher amounts of starch, whereas finefiber varieties exhibit faster starch degradation and lower overall levels.
