PROBLEMS OF INCREASING THE SPEED OF FREIGHT TRAINS AND OPTIMIZING THE DELAY TIMES ON THE RAILWAYS OF UZBEKISTAN
Abstract
This article investigates the problems of increasing the speed of freight trains and optimizing their mandatory delays at stations on the railway network of Uzbekistan, specifically using the Tashkent–Bukhara main route as a case study. It analyzes how the absolute priority given to high-speed passenger trains leads to a decrease in the average section speed of freight trains, causing significant time and economic losses in the logistics chain. As a solution to this problem, based on the advanced international experience of developed countries such as Germany, China, and the USA, scientific and practical proposals have been developed to introduce night logistics windows, implement a packet movement system, and optimize dispatch management using digital technologies. The proposed solutions serve to ensure a stable speed of freight trains on sections and accelerate wagon turnover.
