THE COVERAGE OF THE SCIENTIFIC HERITAGE OF CENTRAL ASIAN SCHOLARS IN IBN AL-NADIM'S "KITAB AL-FIHRIST ALʿULUM"
Abstract
This article analyzes Ibn al-Nadim's "Kitab al-Fihrist", one of the important bio-bibliographic sources created in the 10th-11th centuries. The work examines how the scientific heritage of Central Asian scholars, in particular Abu Nasr al-Farabi, Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, Ahmad al-Farghani, Imam al Bukhari and Abu Isa at-Termizi, is covered. It also reveals the importance of "Al Fihrist" in studying the history of science, the scientific environment, and bio bibliographic traditions.
